Advanced Fiber Resources (AFR) showcased its latest innovations at OFC’2025, held April 1-3 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. AFR highlighted several new and enhanced components designed for high performance and reliability in demanding networks.

TFLN Modulators and Chips

AFR presented multiple Thin-Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) modulator products, including the 96/130 GBaud CDM and the AM70, both of which have already achieved volume shipment. AFR also debuted its 400 Gbps/lane PAM-4 TFLN modulator chip.

During the event, AFR was invited to join the panel discussion “Commercial Readiness of TFLN Photonics,” where industry leaders shared perspectives on the commercialization path for TFLN technology. Additionally, AFR delivered a presentation at the Optica Tech Talk titled “Recent Developments in TFLN for Coherent and IMDD Applications,” exploring TFLN’s role in optical interconnects, data transmission, and quantum computing.

Fiber Array Units

Vlink, AFR's subsidiary, showcased its signature Fiber Array Units (FAUs) at the event, including CPO/OCS fiber arrays and PIC coupling fiber arrays, widely used in 400G, 800G, and 1.6T high-speed/ultra-high-speed optical modules, CPO applications, coherent transmission, DCI applications, and WSS modules. C++, L++, C+L VGA EDFA Modules

Designed by B&A, AFR’s subsidiary, the VGA EDFA modules support up to 120 signal channels (C++ and L++) or 96+96 signal channels (C+L). All amplifiers offer a wide gain range, low noise figure, fast transient control, and configurable modes including variable gain, variable output power, and manual mode. Ideal for backbone networks, MAN/OTN, and DCI.

2-Pump and 4-Pump Raman Amplifiers

Designed by B&A, the amplifiers deliver high reliability and excellent optical performance with low noise figures and flat gain. Both models support C/L bands, offer pump power and signal monitoring, and include constant gain, constant output power, and manual modes. The 4-Pump model extends coverage to C+L bands, enhancing gain tilt control and managing nonlinear distortions in complex fiber environments. Adaptive tuning ensures superior noise suppression and signal integrity for backbone networks and high-speed coherent transmission systems.
