AFR Released Unidirectional Integrated Tap Photodiode Jun 28, 2011

Advanced Fiber Resources (AFR) newly released Unidirectional Integrated Tap Photodiode (UTPD).

AFR's Unidirectional Integrated Tap Photodiode (UTPD) integrates the functionality of an optical coupler and a photodiode for an optical network's power detection. The unidirectional feature allows the PD to respond to power from the input port only. It is widely applied for channel power monitoring in DWDM systems, in-line optical networks switching protection monitoring (OLP), re-configurable optical add/drop multiplexers (OADM), and gain/attenuation monitoring in EDFA, etc.

AFR's Unidirectional Integrated Tap Photodiode (UTPD) is characteristics with excellent directivity (up to 30 dB), low dark current, low insertion loss, low polarization dependent loss, and high return loss. Customized design is also available upon request.

In addition to Unidirectional Integrated Tap Photodiode (UTPD), AFR can also supply Fiber Pigtail Photodiode (FPPD) and Integrated Tap Photodiode (TAPD). Standard size and mini size, Polarization Maintaining (PM) fiber and Single Mode (SM) fiber are available. All of these components are Telcordia qualified.
