AFR is expanding its photonics business by establishing a new R&D center in San Donato Milanese. We are now looking for an expert Chip Design Engineer to join our growing development team. You will have the opportunity to work with skillful and highly motivated engineers developing thin film Lithium Niobate products for telecom, sensing and quantum photonics applications.
Location: San Donato Milanese – Milan – Italy
Job Responsibilities (included but not limited to):
1. Design, simulation and layout of photonic integrated circuits, building blocks and new device concepts
2. Design, simulation and layout of product dies
3. Generation of documentation relative to mask tapeout and simulation results
4. Contribution to PDK development
5. Contribution to technology bricks development
Job Requirements:
1. Major degree in an Engineering discipline (Electronic, Material, Telecommunications or equivalent)
2. 5+ years experience in integrated photonics design
3. Experience in main commercial simulation software for photonics
4. Experience in layout tools and methodologies (DRC, LVS)
5. Familiarity with wafer fab processes and manufacturing (nanotechnologies or semiconductor industry)
6. Knowledge of python is a plus
