AFR is expanding its photonics R&D center in San Donato Milanese. We are now looking for a Characterization Engineer to join our growing development team. You will be responsible for the characterization of integrated electro-optic devices for telecom, sensing and quantum photonics applications, having the opportunity to work with skillful and highly motivated engineers.
Location: San Donato Milanese – Milan – Italy
Job Responsibilities (Included but not limited to):
1. Validation of photonic and optoelectronic devices
2. Parametric characterization
3. Data analysis
4. Contribution to design and process debug
Job Requirements:
1. Major degree in an Engineering discipline (Electronic, Material, Telecommunications or equivalent)
2. 3+ years experience in photonic or microelectronic industry
3. Hands on experience with device characterization & data analysis
4. Understanding of photonics and opto-electronic devices
5. SW: knowledge of python, LabView
6. HW: familiarity with test bench instrumentation
7. Familiarity with wafer fab processes and manufacturing is a plus

3. Good communication skills
4. Fluent English (spoken and written)
