AFR Showcases Cutting-Edge Products Including Circulators, FAUs, OCS, and TFLN Modulators at OFC 2026
Mar 19, 2026
Advanced Fiber Resources (AFR) unveiled a comprehensive portfolio of core optical components and solutions for both datacom and telecom network applications at OFC 2026, held March 17–19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. With a strong focus on high-speed connectivity and long-haul transmission, AFR’s exhibit highlighted innovations tailored for next-generation network architectures—spanning data centers, AI clusters, and backbone networks.
High-Speed Interconnects for Data Centers and AI Computing Clusters
To address the urgent demand for high-capacity, low-power optical interconnects within AI computing clusters and data centers, AFR provides a series of core components and solutions based on advanced packaging and integration technologies.
-
High-Performance Optical Circulators: For data center applications, AFR showcased high-performance optical circulators in 3- to 5-port configurations. These circulators deliver excellent optical performance and are now scalable for volume production.
-
Fiber Arrays (FAU): Including CPO/OCS FAU, 90° bend FAU, and PIC optical interface FAU, among other products. The product lineup supports 800G/1.6T high-speed optical modules and both coherent and non-coherent PIC applications. With the support of its wholly-owned subsidiary Vlink, which specializes in advanced optical component manufacturing and packaging technologies, high-speed optical interconnect design, and rapid scaling of custom products into large-scale production, AFR ensures high standards and reliable delivery at scale.
-
Thin-Film Lithium Niobate (TFLN) Modulators Chips: Designed for high-speed interconnects within data centers, AFR showcased its 200G/lane LPO PAM-4, 400G/lane PAM-4, and 800G DR8 modulator chips, providing low-power, high-bandwidth solutions for ultra-high-speed optical modules.
-
Optical Circuit Switch (OCS) Solutions: In partnership with Calient.AI, AFR presented a live demonstration of the Calient® OCS. Drawing on the extensive manufacturing power and scalable capacity of our wholly-owned subsidiary, AFR Wuhan, we provide data centers with reliable and high-quality product delivery.

Ultra-High-Speed Backbone and Long-Haul Fiber Link Transmission
Addressing the demand for extended reach in backbone, metro, and DCI networks, AFR provides core optical components and system solutions built to thrive in complex environments.
-
130 GBaud TFLN CDM: The quad-channel 130 GBaud CDM integrates an RF driver, offering power consumption of less than 3.5 W and an optical extinction ratio of ≥ 23 dB. It is designed for DP-QPSK and DP-16QAM coherent transmission up to 800 Gbps.
-
PLUGGABLE OLS: Features three core products: QSFP OCM, QSFP EDFA, and QSFP OTDR. With a standardized plug-and-play design, this series delivers high precision, low noise, and low power consumption, meeting the comprehensive demands of optical transmission systems for signal monitoring, amplification, and link testing.
-
VGA EDFA Modules: The C++, L++, and C+L VGA EDFA modules support up to 120 (C++ and L++) or 96+96 (C+L) signal channels. With a broad gain range and rapid transient control, these modules enable highly flexible adjustments for both gain and output power.
-
2-Pump and 4-Pump Raman Amplifiers: Operating across the C-band, these units support constant gain, constant power, and manual modes. The 4-pump variant extends reach to the C++ band with enhanced gain tilt control, guaranteeing optimal signal stability in long-haul optical networks.
Submarine optical networks require core components built for harsh environments and long-term reliability. During the event, AFR's Submarine Fiber Feedthrough was honored by "Lightwave + BTR Innovation Reviews" award for its exceptional reliability and scalable design—key features that guarantee the enduring stability of subsea optical infrastructure.
