Assembly Process Development Engineer, San Donato Milanese, Milan, Italy Jul 30, 2020

Job Responsiblities:

1. Working in clean room environment the manufacturing engineer is responsible to improve, implement, enhance and develop production process flows for assembly of optoelectronic devices

2. Analyze and enhance current optoelectronic assembly/packaging techniques including: die placement, die bonding (materials and methods), package sealing, wire bonding technologies (Ball, Wedge ..), bond pull test

3. Monitor and improve the fiber optical alignment to chip and pigtailing processes

4. Responsible of troubleshooting for manufacturing and engineering problems related with optoelectronic device assembly/packaging steps

5. Support new components and new productsintroduction from design to manufacturing feasibility steps

6. Work to improve the product quality and secure the product reliability by balancing cost of test and test coverage that could impact the production fall-off

7. Responsible of process documentation, work instruction necessary for transfer new process to manufacturing. Control new product introduction from design to manufacturing

8. Perform manufacturing operatorstraining 


Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor Degree (or higher) in Engineering, Optics, Electronics, Semiconductors, telecommunication or equivalent technical discipline

2. 5 years+ of working experience in related industry (particularly in semiconductors with optoelectronic assembly/packaging)

3. Ability to analyze assembly/packaging process flows, and work to improve them through experiments, research, and failure analysis, equipment knowledge

4. Familiarity with adhesives and adhesive selection as well as soldering processes is a plus

5. Knowledge of process/product validation procedures and techniques

6. Knowledge of basic six sigma / lean manufacturing concepts like capability studies and SPC

7. Application of process and product FMEA, problem solving techniques, risk analysis

8. Competent with statistical applications, Labview application experience is a plus

9. Ability to work effectively in an international team environment and interact with all function and levels

10. Fluent English is preferred
